Hi, I’m Willow — the maker behind WillowBird'sStudio.
I’m an Afrikaans South African who emigrated to the UK, and throughout my time here I struggled to feel at home. There were so few items that represented me and my culture, and the limited options often came with a hefty price tag. I started this studio to change that — I am here to offer South Africans and people from all over the world pieces that make them feel seen and special, with designs that honour their heritage in many different forms.

What I Make

I design coquette-chic pieces currently ranging from glass cups, bookmarks, tote bags, phone cases, stickers, gifts and more — with culture woven into the details. I create items that represent heritage in many ways: maps, motifs, phrases, and symbols that you can use, display, gift, or collect. I’m also here for fellow polyglots too, bringing languages into design in a joyful, and more importantly a practical way, and I’m excited to keep expanding this vision in the future.

I design, test, and refine each and every product myself, paying close attention to quality, usability, and care details. If it isn’t beautiful and practical, it isn’t finished.
